When Harry was 4 weeks old, he spent a week in the hospital and as parents, we couldn’t imagine what some other families had to go through, we couldn’t stop thinking about it. Children deserve to have every possible chance at health, and this is a small way for us to help make that a possibility through access to new equipment and initiatives.

We always participate at the event as a family and have a blast. … all the amazing activities, food, fun and families coming together is really a privilege to partake in. We make sure that the kids participate in the fundraising and are aware of the progress we are making as a family and why what we are doing is so important. Asking for donations on behalf of Harry and Kenzie makes it much easier. This is their cause."

We participate in Stroll for Kids as it is a family event, and one that children can actively take part in. Miles, our 3-year-old, was in the NICU at the Montreal Children’s Hospital for close to a month after he was born, and as a first-time mom, I truly appreciated the care, support, and technology that were offered to us while we were there. We were always surrounded by great people and great support and it truly helped make a scary and difficult situation a little easier to swallow.

We chose to wait until Miles had a better understanding of what we were doing, why we were raising money, and why it was so important to give back. In preparation for Stroll, we showed him pictures of when he was in the hospital, and I think it was one of the first times he's realized that people/babies are not always okay. In Miles' words, we raised money to help the babies become strong and healthy.
